Her father was a member of China’s national fencing team and gold medalist at the Asian Games. His mother was an artistic gymnast from Mainland China. His parents Ricky Wang (Wang Rui-Ji) and Sophia Wang (Zhou Ping or Wang Ping) were both athletes. Jackson Wang was born in Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong, China, on March 28, 1994. He is fluent in Korean, Mandarin, English, Cantonese, the Shanghai dialect, and also studied French as a teenager. In the same month, he was also confirmed at the American Music Awards as a representative of the Alibaba Group. In November 2017, Jackson Wang had a confirmed presence on MTV Europe Music Awards as a nominee of MTV China and Official Ambassador of the Great China region and won the Asian Music Gala at the MTV Special Awards of the same. Jackson is a former fencer, having achieved dozens of awards, including the (11) eleventh position at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games and first position in the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in 2011, thus becoming the greatest fencer juvenile in Asia. In 2017, Jackson created his own dance company in China entitled “Team Wang”, where he acts as a soloist.
He made his debut as a member of the South Korean group GOT7 through JYP Entertainment in 2014. He is popularly known for his many appearances on variety shows, reality shows, and his rap career and singer in China and South Korea. Wang Jia-Er ( Traditional Chinese : 王 嘉爾, Simplified Chinese : 王 嘉尔, Pinyin : Wáng Jiāěr born March 28, 1994 ), better known by his stage name Jackson Wang (왕 잭슨 in hangul ), or his native Cantonese name Wang Ka-Yee, is a former athlete and fencer, rapper, singer, dancer, CEO, producer, model and Honconguês television presenter.
